In 1975 The Kez were then known as "Oasis".The members who had all known each other from school decided to form a band and play to local events around the surrounding area of Buckinghamshire,Gt Britain. The Members were Steve Ashall, guitar bass & vocals,Doug Hearn lead guitar &vocals,Martin Coles guitar, and Andy Waller drums
Their act was pure rock N roll ,mainly doing other artists songs, but also writing and playing there own numbers, which led them on to get a place in the top ten acts for youth clubs in Gt Britain
Oasis auditioned in Reading, and played three songs of there own to three judges, six weeks later they were chosen as one of the ten acts, and in November that year, 1975,they were of to the Royal Court Theatre,Liverpool, along with the other nine acts

"Oasis" above pictured before there trip to Liverpool 1975.They had their own manager then, and his name was Arnold Wedge,(pictured far right)
Oasis came third in the finals, and the band felt quite down at the time, thinking this was there big moment.Tom O'Conner was the host, and the big act for the evening was Mac&Katie Kassoon who had a string of hits in the seventies.
Returning from Liverpool, the boys went back to playing around the clubs below are some of the bookings from 1975

As you can see the money did'nt go far
Oasis did'nt make any recordings to purchase although Steve made some tape recordings of the band at some gigs and rehearsals
Sadly in 1977,Oasis came to an end,Steve Ashall carried on with a solo career and played with many other bands.Martin Coles never returned to play music, but Doug Hearn& Andy Waller, started as a duo act in 1984

In 1985 Steve,Andy& Doug met up to play a one off gig at the Barley Mow Public house.Steve Ashall had never stopped touring since 1977,and whilst Doug and Andy had started up again in 1984,perhaps it was a good thing to do
